How Do I Handle Instances of Blocks While Duplicating a Page?

Choosing How Blocks Behave
Spotting Shared Blocks

You can duplicate a page in two ways:

  1. From the Dashboard: Find the page, click the three-dot menu, and select Duplicate Page.

  2. From the Studio: Go to Page Settings while editing the page.

A popup will appear asking for the new page's title and web address (slug).

Choosing How Blocks Behave

At the bottom of the popup, under "Use same block instance for:", you will see a list of the blocks on that page with toggles next to them. This lets you decide if each block should be linked or independent.

  • Toggle On (Linked): The block stays connected to the original. If you edit it on the new page, the original page updates too! This is perfect for things like navigation bars or footers that should look exactly the same everywhere.

  • Toggle Off (Independent): The block is copied as a completely new, separate piece. You can change it freely without affecting the original page. This is great when you just want a starting template to build on.

Spotting Shared Blocks

When a block is linked across different pages, Levo Studio adds a helpful indicator so you don't edit it by mistake. In the Block Edit Panel, you will see a notice that the block is used in multiple places. If you hover over it, you can even see the names of all the pages sharing that block.
